Start with the same useful foundations
Explain what the business does, who it serves, and where it actually works. Use specific service pages when customers need different information. Keep business names, contact details, service descriptions, and policies accurate. Make pages accessible to people and technically available to search systems.
These foundations help customers first. They also give search systems clearer information to interpret. Google says the usual SEO practices still apply to its AI features and does not require a special AI file or extra markup to appear there.
Make important facts easy to verify
- Write original, useful explanations rather than pages that only repeat search phrases.
- Use visible headings and straightforward language; keep important content available in the page itself.
- Use structured data only when it accurately describes visible page content.
- Link related pages together so people can move from a service overview to the details they need.
- Keep a sitemap and canonical URLs accurate, and use Search Console to review indexing and search data.
Avoid shortcuts that weaken trust
Do not hide keyword text, generate many near-identical city pages, invent office locations, or label speculative copy as customer evidence. Those tactics make the site less useful and can violate search spam policies. Publish a page when it answers a real question for a person—and make it easy to find on the site.
Set realistic expectations
AI answers can vary by question, location, system, and time. A business cannot control whether a particular search result or AI response mentions it. Good site structure and accurate information are sound foundations, not a promise of ranking, citation, calls, or revenue.
